Jacobs talks about his schooling at St. John's Preparatory School and Knox Grammar School, concentrating on Latin and Greek; his memories of the Depression; doing classics at Sydney University then law; enlistment in May 1940 and wartime experience. He then returned to legal studies in 1945, admitted to Bar in 1947, took silk in 1958, appointed Judge of Supreme Court followed by High Court from 1974-1979. Jacobs discusses his publication "Law of trusts in New South Wales" and his experiences as a judge. He also talks about his interests in bookbinding, printing and gardening and concludes with reflections on the judiciary.
