This paper examines the role that factors such as vulnerability (both physical and social) and experiences of violence play in the formation of women's perceptions of personal safety. Based on data from the Women's Safety Survey, the results show that women's fear of crime is greater among those who have lower incomes, those in older age groups, and those living with a partner. - Publisher's website.
